Every good and perfect gift is from heaven above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like the shifting shadows. – James 1:17, NIV
It’s easy to look around the world today and see all the difficulties…a down turned economy, sickness, destruction…..and yet as I write this, I see my two boys playing, full of life and energy, without a care in the world, and I am reminded that God is good. This world is imperfect and life is hard, but we have to remember that God gives us every good gift we have ever been given.
I have a renewed plan to spend each day finding things to be grateful for….those perfect gifts that God is giving to me on a daily basis, big and small. It may be as big as my boys or as small as the blanket that keeps me warm at night when it is 29 degrees outside. Those gifts can come in the form of a spontaneous hug from my children or a word of encouragement from my spouse or a friend. I would encourage you, too, to find the good and perfect gifts that God is giving to you each and every day….look for them, and you will find them!
