Read Luke 1-3

But Mary treasured up all of these things and pondered them in her heart. -  Luke 2:19

There is quite a lot going on in these first few chapters of Luke. How precious it is that Mary’s response to much of it is documented. I can imagine that as she tried to make sense of it all. Mary felt overjoyed, tired, yet energized all at the same time. I can relate.

Certain months of the year (i.e.: December) can take its toll emotionally, physically, financially. One day at a time. I’ve found that’s the best way for me to get through it all. With five family birthdays plus all the planning, traveling and preparation for Christmas, it can get overwhelming. Perhaps that’s how Mary felt about all the things that were happening, as she ‘pondered them in her heart.’ Yet it was among the family gatherings, the hustle and bustle of traveling, and the hurried crowds that Mary clung to the truths of her Son.

Oh how I should ponder Him more.
