Are you bold in your faith? Even before those that don’t agree with you…like Paul before the Jews? It may not be as dramatic, confrontational, or as dangerous as the mission God had for Paul, but God has a plan for each of us…be open to it and embrace it. Pray and seek His guidance.
God allowed me to acquire a good education, to work as a consultant to Fortune 500 boards and senior management, and to start two companies. But in the process I had very little time or energy for God or my family. Maybe He was trying to get my attention when my first company was pulled away in a hostile takeover. But I didn’t get it…I just started over and built another company. Then the venture capital company that funded us decided they wanted to bring in their own CEO…I finally turned to God in prayer and asked what He wanted me to do. He led me to leave the Bay Area, to spend a lot more time with my family, and then handed me an opportunity to help start a Christian school. This utilized everything I had learned pursuing my own interests to help further His kingdom and touch the lives of hundreds of children and their parents.
Is God trying to get your attention? Has something happened in your life that might be God trying to tell you to change course, to realign your priorities, to put God and family first? Has God allowed you to gain an education, experience, and skills that could be used to further His kingdom? Has God laid opportunities before you that would shift your focus from your own success and accomplishments to fulfilling His goals for your life?
It might not be as obvious as a bright light from heaven, the audible voice of Jesus, or instant blindness like it was for Saul, but don’t ignore God’s signs. He has a plan for each of us if we will listen.
